The Abbey - Nancy Spruance Designs

This Gothic Revival villa is a notable and picturesque survivor of Cape May, New Jersey's heyday as Queen of the Seaside Resorts.  The house was built as a summer retreat for a wealthy Philadelphian.  Its eclectic designs, which combines gothic details, fancy shingle work, and a four-story tower with mansard roof, displays the fashionable taste of this bygone era.  The house was placed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, handsomely restored, and today is a popular bed and breakfast.
